Airport-to-airport cargo moves between agreed airports. The sender must arrange the correct origin handover, while the recipient must be prepared to complete the destination process and collect the cargo.
Responsibilities need to be clear
This service does not automatically include collection from the sender or delivery to the recipient. Before booking, obtain written instructions for the cargo terminal, deadlines, documentation, security requirements and collection procedure.
Provide complete shipment information
Accurate weight and dimensions are especially important for airport cargo. Include the number of pieces, packaging type and a truthful description of everything in the shipment. Restricted goods must be identified before acceptance.
- Confirm the origin and destination airports in writing.
- Check who handles export and destination formalities.
- Ask which charges are included and which may be payable separately.
- Make sure the recipient can attend or appoint someone to collect.
- Do not travel to an airport with cargo until handover instructions are confirmed.
An estimated timeframe will be provided with a quotation where possible. It may be affected by flight schedules, operational changes, security checks, customs, weather and destination conditions.
